Previously a School Yard now our patio and garden.
Our first fight was with the beautiful but extremely resilient Morning Glory (ipomoea Indica) which had overgrown the whole schoolyard
We removed all of it (or so we thought).

But when we came back three months later, all of it had regrown and we even had to pull 6 meters of the vine from our living room.
After our second battle with the Morning Glory, we put black plastic on the weeded areas and we decided to make terraces of the sloping yard.

Paving the lover part with calzadas portuguesas and putting up a Pergola soon to be covered with grape vines for some strongly needed shade. Topping it of with a lotusshaped fountain we got from one of the many potters near Ericeira.

On the upper terrace we put down white gravel and we have installed a temporary swimming pool. We also planted fig, lemon and olive trees.

The pergola is finally giving some shade.

And is also a nice place to spend the evening.
Pseudocidaris mammosa spines found on location.
